Springs of Living Water (SLW) is a non-profit Organization located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Bereket K. Mamo is the founder of SLW in the year 2018. Bereket was powerfully called into the mission field at a very young age. She has served both within the states and internationally; she became compelled by the heart of God for the poor.
The name Springs of Living Water is derived from the Gospel of John. Jesus promised, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13). There are many people who are thirsty and hungry to know Christ. Many are still in darkness, confused and tormented. Jesus is the Living Water that can and will change every women and girl that is hurting, broken and abused.
After spending one year in Ethiopia, Bereket quickly became aware of women/girls that are sexually trafficked. The amounts of young women/girls that are being sexually trafficked within the country are great in number. Therefore, Bereket decided to start an NGO that serves to fight against the systems of darkness. SLW rescues rehabilitates and release these women/girls from the work of darkness.
Springs of Living Water seeks to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release women/girls that are slaves of sex trafficking.
Springs of Living Water envisions a world where the horrors of sex trafficking is totally decreased if not eliminated.
SLW’s first endeavor is to rescue women and girls that are being sexually trafficked in the city of Addis Ababa.
SLW’s second endeavor is to provide a rehabilitation center. It provides counseling services, and home care group for the women. It will use different rehabilitation techniques to empower and heal these girls.
SLW’s third endeavor is to release women/girls from the bondage and pain of being enslaved. It’s important to release these women into their God-given destinies. SLW provides vocational skills and pieces of training that will empower these women to work and earn income. Further, it will provide educational opportunities for these girls.
